The color brown gets such a bad rap. Sometimes considered dull and unimaginative, it must be remembered that brown is a warm tone, full of calm sensibility, simplicity, and depth. Some may call it grounded, some may call it practical (it hides the dirt!), and some may call it the prettiest of the neutrals. We found five garage doors that call it all of these things, and they also call it beautiful.

We were a little hesitant to showcase white garage doors in this patriotic garage door color series. I mean white garage doors are everywhere, and not always brilliantly. We carefully selected these examples to showcase how beautiful white garage doors can be when done purposefully. These aren't stock doors that are placed on a home and checked off a list; these doors were designed and added to a garage with just the right shade of white in mind. (Think there aren't that many shades of white? Just ask our design team).

We're celebrating patriotic colors this month in an effort to show how bright, primary colors on garage doors can look both stunning and appropriate on homes in our Sioux City and Yankton neighborhoods. Today we focus on the powerful impact of a red garage door which, when done artfully, can transform a cookie cutter ranch-style house into a purposeful addition to the neighborhood aesthetic.

July isn't just about the Stars and Stripes, it's also about the red, white, and blue.
