Wood Garage Doors: Go Light or Go Dark?

Posted by Overhead Door of Sioux City and Yankton | Nov 21, 2014 10:00:00 AM

Want to add or replace that old garage door with wooden one but don't know if you should go with a light or dark grain? Well, first off, here are a few pointers:

  1. Contrast can be good. Wooden garage doors typically go well with a stone, brick, or a stucco finished garage. If that material is light, try a darker grain. If the garage is a little bit darker, try a lighter grain garage door.
  2. Consider the upkeep. At Overhead Door of Sioux City and Yankton, we can offer wood doors in unfinished, paint-grade or stain-grade. Contact us if you're unsure which would fit you the best.

Check out these examples to get a taste of what light and dark grain garage doors look like. You can also check out our collection of wood garage doors here
